Third generation florist, Bob Roehrich of City Line Florist, fought hard to keep “in lieu of flowers” out of the obituary over the years and, as he got older, he would circle the age of the person that passed and “in lieu of flowers.” He often noted that people were living longer and then would gauge (before Floral Prodigy) how “in lieu of flowers” would affect funeral business for the day. Bob passed on January 2, 2015 of a massive heart attack. Like a true florist, he held out and got through the holidays and celebrated the New Year with his family before moving on to the next chapter in his journey. It’s not “good bye,” but “see you later” as far as we are concerned. He did a great job; raised an amazing family and served as a florist while being married to his high school sweetheart for 68 years. In his honor, at the end of his obituary his family wrote “in lieu of donations, send flowers to honor Bob.” His life was his love of flowers and his family business.
Please keep this stem of our floral family in your prayers. If there is any more information available we will pass it on.
